Taking Winnie By Storm
Baby Alexander was born at 28 weeks and weighed only 760 grams (1lb 11oz). He was only as long as a banana. In his first few seconds of life, he cried strong and full of bravado, as loud as any full term newborn, setting the stage for the strength and might that he would show in the NICU. He was already a fighter. A little miracle baby, who was determined to live, even though he had several really hard days fighting for his life.
It’s no coincidence that he was born at Winnie Palmer Hospital, which houses The Alexander Center for Neonatology. The care he received in the NICU during his three and a half month stay was the best. The doctors and nurses who work there saved his life more than once. There are angels in Orlando, and you can find them in the NICU at Winnie Palmer Hospital. This amazing medical team is lead by Dr. Gregor Alexander, a man who has dedicated his life to his precious babies. Alexander was one of his patients.
Alexander joined his loving family at home in June of this year. He is loved and cared for by his mother Megan, father Alex and great big brother, Sewell. He is spoiled and adored by his grandparents, Anne, Olga, and Luis, and a host of other family members.
At six months old (3 months adjusted), he weighs almost 10 lbs and is 22 inches long. He enjoys sucking his fingers, reaching for colorful objects and playing with his rattle. He can roll over, coo and laugh out loud. He recently discovered Mickey Mouse and has formed a life long friendship. He is a great little boy, who has truly been blessed by God.
