Fundraising Honor Roll

For more than 40 years, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) has been a leader in the fight to save the tiniest of patients.  Walk For Winnie provides all of us in the community the opportunity to join Winnie Palmer Hospital in this fight.

My story started two years ago on August 13th when I was born seven weeks early. I was not ready to be born just yet, but my mommy's health was going downhill. At 6:54 in the morning, my mommy had emergency surgery to bring me into this world. My lungs were not strong and I needed to be in the NICU for three weeks while my body got stronger. It was very tough for mommy and daddy, and they spent almost the whole day with me and would read to me and talk to me. They tell me I was a fighter and they are very proud of me. Because of the love from my parents and the staff in the hospital, I got better and stronger and left after three weeks. Now, I am two years old and you would never know I was premature the way I run around and chaos I cause.

Through Walk For Winnie, the hospital will be able to provide funding for the care and treatment of other sick babies like me. Every day, skilled physicians and nurses at the Alexander Center for Neonatology provide the highest level of life-saving care for critically ill newborns, with one ultimate goal in mind: to help these babies thrive and beat the odds. Please join me in raising funds to support the tiny miracles born in the NICU every single day!
